The Finance Business Partner is a strategic and commercial leader within the finance team, responsible for partnering with the business to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making. The FBP will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support the achievement of the company's business objectives, particularly within the Commercial and Customer function, focusing on collection centre operational finance and the interplay between referrers and associated downstream delivery of samples to results.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Business Partnering:
- Act as the primary finance contact for the Collections, B2B, and Customer Care teams within the Commercial & Customer function. Be fully integrated into the function to understand the operational challenges and opportunities from the inside. With a value creation focus, provide tailored financial and commercial advice and work closely with senior leaders and other stakeholders to influence and support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and data-driven insights.
- Financial Reporting, Analysis & Performance Management:
Identify business value drivers and oversee financial performance reporting through articulating variance analysis, scenario and sensitivity modelling, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad-hoc analysis. Present findings to stakeholders and recommend actions to optimise financial outcomes.
- Strategic Financial Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop and deliver strategic financial planning alongside other Finance Business Partners to lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Commercial & Customer function and provide financial insights that inform business strategy and operational execution while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and accurate financial projections.
- Business Case & Project Support:
Support, review, challenge and make recommendations for key business cases and contracts including cost assumptions, benefit realisation plans and risks within the Commercial & Customer function which will contribute to an informed approval process.
- Collaboration with Broader Finance and Cross-Functional Teams
Facilitate and lead cross-team and cross-functional discussions where joint financial insights and ownership will allow for more holistic decision-making.
- Risk Management:
Assess financial risks and work with the business to mitigate them, ensuring robust financial controls are in place
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CA/CPA qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance business partnering role or similar.
- Proven track record in strategic financial planning, analysis, and business partnering.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems and business intelligence tools experience – SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI.
- Presence and a proactive style that builds relationships across all levels of stakeholder groups, deploying negotiating and influencing skills
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights, underpinned by strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
